Ethiopia to join alliance with Russia in Ukraine war According to sources close to the Ethiopian presidential palace, senior Ethiopian military officials have been appointed by the government to prepare young volunteers to be sent to Russia to take part in the war in Ukraine. These mercenaries will be provided with limited military training and large sums of money for their families.
Unemployment in Ethiopia is at an all-time high as the country’s economy slows down as a result of the ongoing civil war. The cost of living is skyrocketing, and it is difficult for most Ethiopians to get three meals a day. Poverty is below the poverty line and is the second most populous country in Africa in the Horn of Africa, plagued by civil war, drought and famine.
The number of Ethiopian laborers being sent to Russia is estimated at hundreds of thousands. Unemployment and famine in the country are forcing young people to risk their lives and to fight in another country. The Ethiopian government is repaying Russia’s debt to the Ethiopian government for rescuing it by overthrowing the TPLF and OLF fighters.
