Thirty four Somalis have been arrested as Kenya intensifies the war on illegal immigrants, security officials confirm.“We arrested 34 four Somalis hurdled in two unmarked cars trying to get to Nairobi using fake documents,” the area police chief says.
The Somalis were travelling from Mogadishu to Nairobi, Kenya’s capital.
The suspects will appear before a Garissa law court on Monday to face charges of entering the country illegally using fake documents.
Last week at least 30 Ethiopian illegal immigrants were arrested being smuggled into the country by corrupt Kenyan immigration officers and policemen.
The regional police boss revealed that more military troops have been sent to the Kenya –Somalia border as fears of Alshabab and al-Qaeda terrorists increasing their establishments in Kenya emerge.
Somalia is immersed in a two decade civil war that has seen Kenya host the largest number of Somalia refugees.
