Jijiga, August 21, 2013 – Thousand of people, including government employees were gathered on Monday August 19, 2013 at a centre of the town. They paid tribute to Meles Zenawi the late, Ethiopian prime minister after a year of his death.
Large crowds were a vigil in many ours with holding candle light’s commemorating of the late prime minister.
Administration ordered business owners to close off all commercial activities at Jijiga. People were walking on the streets wearing picture of Meles Zenawi painted with slogan words describing his inspiration effort during his ruling terms.
On the other side, over 2,004 people from most of them the Ethiopian ruling party present in the Somali region planted 2,004 trees at Mele’s referral hospital in Jijiga. He was loved plants and had been visionary of green development.
