Hailemariam Desalegn will take over interim power following the death of leader Meles Zenawi, the government spokesman told reporters on August 21, 2012.  "According to the Ethiopian constitution the deputy prime minister will have to go to parliament and take the oath, and the government is organising the parliament to be summoned as soon as possible," Bereket Simon said. Parliament is normally scheduled to convene after the Ethiopian New Year on September 11. He had held talks with UAE businees institutions.

The Prime Minister explained to the community the impressive progress  Ethiopia registered in the fight against poverty.  During meeting they exchanged views on how to boost the involvement of Ethiopian Diaspora in the socio-economic activities being undertaken in their home country.

The community representatives underlined their satisfaction at the progress of the construction of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and reiterated their readiness to continue their support for its completion.

The Ethiopian community reside in the Arab country has been facing hardship challenges and recently Saudi Arabia deported 150, 000 Ethiopian nationals. Those deportees are rely UNCHR food support in Addis Ababa.
