Ethiopia: Council of Ministers Passes Decision On 2006 EC Budget Proposal

 

Addis Ababa, June 10, 2013 – Council of Ministers in its 49th regular meeting passed a decision on the next year federal government budget proposal. Accordingly the Council decided the federal government budget for the next year to be nearly 155 billion birr. The budget year is as of July 1 of 2005 EC to June 30 of 2006 EC.

The Federal government allocates the subsidies for regional governments as per the decision of the House of Federation.

The press release from the office of the Council of Ministers shows regular budget to be over 32 million birr, capital budget over 64 billion birr, regional subsidies over 43 billion birr and budget for MDGs 15 billion birr.

Following the decision by the council of ministers the budget proposal is sent to the House of Representatives for further probe and ultimate ratification.
