His Excellency Barack Obama
The United States of America
It is my greatest pleasure to express to Your Excellency, and to the people of the United States, my deepest congratulations on behalf of the Somali Ogaden people, the Ogaden national liberation Front [ONLF] and on my behalf, for your landslide victory and election as the 44th President of the United States of America.
Allow me further to reward you of this historic occasion to express my passionate hope that the US policy in our region will indeed change under Your Excellency’s Presidency to pursue a constructive path to advance the causes of regional peace, justice, and legality.
ONLF wishes to work closely with your new administration to help bring peace, stability and development to the Horn of Africa.
I urge the President not to provide support to Ethiopian colonialism and its dictatorship which oppresses and denies the right of the Ogaden People to self-determination and freedom.
Accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
Chair of the Ogaden National Liberation (ONLF) [Supreme Council]
